Respect at work depends on everyday behaviour as well as formal policies. Organisations should communicate expectations clearly, make awareness sessions relevant to real situations and ensure that employees know where to find support. Leaders need to model the standards they ask others to uphold.
People should be able to understand reporting channels and raise concerns without fear of retaliation. Concerns about harassment require appropriate formal handling; they should not be dismissed as misunderstandings or replaced with informal mediation. Confidentiality and fair process need careful attention.
Regularly review whether reporting information is accessible and whether those responsible for handling concerns have appropriate training.
